Who is Angela Edmunds?
Angela Edmunds is the President/Founder of Sarai Style which developed in 1999, and has serviced in the areas of fashion design, Fashion Journalism, styling, fashion show coordination/choreography, modeling, model management, public relations, self development instruction for teens, and special events coordination/management.
Ms. Edmunds has done styling for Philadelphia Style Magazine, BET’s Rip the Runway, CN8 news, celebrity clients such as Grammy Winner Anthony Hamilton, Kindred The Family Soul, Jamie Hector of The Wire, ANTM Camille McDonald, and Rebecca Crews, along with work in music videos such as Grammy Winning singer Jill Scott’s “Shame”, and Jeff Bradshaw’s “Til Tomorrow” video and album cover. Additionally, Ms. Edmunds has served as costume designer and wardrobe supervisor in film working with actors such Ernie Hudson, Brandon T. Jackson, Nikki “Hoopz” Alexander, KeKe Palmer, and Charles Malik Whitfield.
Ms. Edmunds created Showroom77, Philadelphia’s first wholesale/retail multi-clothing & accessory label showroom in November of 2006. Showroom77 launched as the new division of the Sarai Style fashion department servicing buyers, stylists, and private clients. Ms. Edmunds chose to put her collection on the back burner to move the business in a new direction to help other designers nationally and internationally, in need of sales assistance and creative business development. Showroom77 has been featured in the Tribune, The Inquirer, Philadelphia Weekly – Philly Blogs, and Uwishunu among others.
The Greater Philadelphia Marketing and Tourism Corp. has recognized Showroom77 as one of Philadelphia’s top places to visit in the retail community. Edmunds expanded the business in Fall 2010 with a retail division Boutique77 the first pop boutique of its sort for Center City and The Avenue of the Arts featuring 22 collections from Philadelphia, New Jersey, Atlanta, and LA which ran a successful 3 month pop up holiday season.
Ms. Edmunds was awarded The 2011 Philadelphia Fashion Week Woman of Style Award by FBH Philadelphia Fashion Week, and additionally was selected to represent style in Philadelphia in the April 2011 issue of Essence Magazine in the “What We Are Wearing In” section. Ms. Edmunds has been labeled one of Philadelphia’s Fashion Icons for her work in the Philadelphia Fashion community, and was one of the 2012 Philadelphia Collection Fashion Award of Distinction Awardees.
